Noyonika, you currently wear many hats in your roles. What would you say are the main ones, and which was the original one that kicked off your career? <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n So, I think the best thing about defining a career is getting to try whatever you want and seeing what works out. And become so good at one thing that you have no competition. That is my idea of wearing many hats, and discovering what truly resonates with you.<\/p>\n\n\n\n I think the best thing I have discovered in the process is to understand what I like, what I do not like, what I enjoy, what I\u2019m good at, what I can do when I\u2019m sleeping. I discovered that I would need something that can drive me every day to work, and doesn\u2019t make me think about Mondays anymore.<\/p>\n\n\n\n So, right now, that has been learning the bridge between creativity and marketing. I wanted to learn more about how data supports ideas and how ideas can bring in new data. This interconnection is something I\u2019m keen to learn more.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Would you say that was something you focused on during your studies at Parsons Paris? Was that your intention, or was that an evolution that you arrived at? <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Definitely an evolution because in Parsons Paris I was just gaining the armor to be here. I learned the theories, I learned the everyday examples, I learned from different experiences, meeting people, how things actually function. And then I kind of got all my ingredients to make the food. I prepared my ingredients before I was ready to cook!<\/p>\n\n\n\n And in terms of where you are now, how would you say Paris serves you as the backdrop to your career? How does it benefit you?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Paris is not the backdrop. It is the stage. I think if there wasn\u2019t Paris, there wouldn\u2019t have been fashion historically. It is a very global city, but also niche in a way, and contributes very positively to different fashion fields. So, it was important for me to come to Paris and discover how fashion truly works. Unless you know how the things originate, you cannot plan the future of things. So, why not learn from the foundation first, because everything starts there with a lot of process, thought, artistry, and a blend of history and social culture. So, it is important to absorb that, but never forget your roots and what you want to do in fashion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n You\u2019re a fashion kid at heart. Who do we think the current fashion kid is? Are they primarily a consumer, or are they mostly a visual enthusiast? Have you noticed any changes of who this person is within the last few years? For example, I would say when I was in college, the fashion kid was definitely more of an enthusiast than a consumer, but I\u2019m curious to hear your thoughts. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n I think the luxury leaders, which are the brands, are the fashion kids now because they are the ones steering the industry. They are the ones creating, and they are the ones destroying. So, if I would say, like all these brand visionaries, which is a mix between the CEO, the commerce arm, and the director arm, I think they mix, and they create a fashion formula for us to follow. <\/p>\n\n\n\n I want to ask, what can\u2019t you live without right now? What do you need in your day to day?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Every day before I sleep, I actually try to read a book.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Our last question is, what\u2019s your star sign? I personally know, but the readers would love to know, too.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n I\u2019m a Scorpio, like every other fashion industry person, Cancer Rising and a Taurus moon.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Cancer rising.
